Shah Rukh Khan in Ahmedabad: Shooting peaceful but visit not uneventful

Right-wing groups continued their protest on Sunday against film star Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) who is in the city to shoot for his upcoming film “Raees”.On Saturday, protesters had pelted stones on a vehicle in SRK’s convoy and, on Sunday, they tried to burn an effigy of the actor outside a hotel on Ashram Road. While Shah Rukh clearly was misconstrued and his remarks were twisted, no one paid heed to what he actually meant. Thre controversy over Shah Rukh Khan’s statements on intolerance refuses to die down, although it has been more than three months since the actor allegedly made the comments in an interview.

However, the actor was not present in his auto at the time of the attack. “As per the complaint lodged by the Security Officer of the hotel, eight to 10 persons came on bikes and threw stones on cars parked in the open parking lot early this morning”.

The Baadshah of Bollywood, was all set for the shoot of his upcoming film, Raees in Ahmedabad, after the shocking incident of stone pelting which occured just a day back. Over 200 policemen guarded the Roza campus.

The actor, who is shooting for his film Raees in Gujarat, was not at the hotel when the vandals struck around 4.30am, police said. According to Vadaj Police Inspector V G Rathod, seven persons have been detained so far.
